Homemaking needs an Extreme Makeover.
I really hated the idea of being a house wife, a homemaker, a cleaner. WHY? I think that: Homemaking has become an out dated and very disrespected hag. She needs new white shiny teeth, eye lift, face lift, maybe a few implants, tummy tuck, new wardrobe, new hair, and definitely a new attitude. Homemaking is something that grows on me as time passes. I have had to develop the ability to nurture others and keep myself nurtured. When I clean a home and I can see that the homemaker is overwhelmed, I tell them " You are the one who is spiritually advanced because you take on this task of homemaking knowing that you will not get paid or respected. You are the one who is effecting our culture right here right now." and to my surprise tears run down there faces!
This is how I know the deep seated need for more respect for the feminine aspect is not just something I feel but everyone is deeply effected by it.
Homemaking needs a spiritual revival. We are all homemakers. . We all have a home to maintain. Show appreciation, love and respect for the person who is in charge of the home making in your house. It is time for us all to help in rebuilding the homemaking hag. Give her a new look. Have a spiritual revival of homemaking. Lift your head high and know that we are all together in the homemaking business.
Oooo ooo oo oooo ooo I want a new attitude.
“ If the homemaker asks after the purpose of her work, the answer is: she stands within the situations from out of which a new society will develop. Therefore ‘homemaker’ in the future will receive a totally new meaning, particularly with regard to the role of the woman.
For the homemaker’s whole existence stands at the center of one of the greatest changes ever to take place in human history” ~ Rudolph Steiner
A spiritual revival You are the head of the spiritual force driving the culture.
I understand and you are the Matriarch of your family. You are the one who takes on this very important role. I know you have not gotten any respect or pay for it. I know you feel how important it is. You are IT. You are the spiritual leader of your family and you are making history.
You Rock!
Who decides on what food to buy? Who decides what cleaning products to use? Who decides what the children can and can not watch on T.V.? Who buys the presents? Who teaches the children what to eat and how to act?
One time I was speaking to a man about something. He told me that he is the homemaker of the house. He stays at home and takes care of house and the children. His wife works. He went on to tell him how important it is for him to be able to take care of his family and have time to meditate. He practices Kriya Yoga. If you know anything about that then you know this person meditates everyday at least twice a day. He was looking down and saying that sometimes he does not feel good about not bringing home money and just being a homemaker. I said what I always say.
I told him that “ he is a very spiritually advanced to take on the role of homemaking. I understand how important it is to him. I know he does not get any respect or pay. I told him he was It. He is the ONE that is the Spiritual Leader of your Family. Who better than a person who does Kriya Yoga to take on that role.”
He looked at me with tears running down his face and said “ I do not know about being spiritually advanced, but I needed to hear that Thank You”
The need to know that you rock because you are a homemaker is not discrimanating. Whatever your color, gender, religion, or area of the world you live in know that if you are the homemaker in your household

A poem by Maya Angelou
I love her name it reminds me of both Mother Mary and an Angel. I can feel the spirit of the Great Mother in her poems and her presence. I have even had thoughts of her being here for that very purpose.
